WHAT IS COMPUTER?
·
An electronic
device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to
instructions given to it in a variable program.
·
An electronic
device that accept data from the input unit and process it using the processing
unit and spontaneously gives out the information or result from the output unit
in a very fast period of time.
·
A computer is a device that accepts information (in the form of digitalized
data) and manipulates it for some result based on a program or sequence of
instructions on how the data is to be processed. Complex computers also include
the means for storing data (including the program, which is also a form of
data) for some necessary duration. A program may be invariable and built into
the computer (and called logic circuitry as it is on microprocessors) or
different programs may be provided to the computer (loaded into its storage and
then started by an administrator or user). Today's computers have both kinds of
programming.
What is Computer : Computer is an electronic device that is designed to work with
Information. The
term computer is derived from the Latin term ‘computare’, this means to calculate
or programmable
machine. Computer can not do anything
without a Program. It represents the decimal numbers
through a string of binary digits. The Word 'Computer' usually refers to the Center
Processor Unit plus Internal memory.
Charles Babbage is called the "Grand Father" of the computer. The First
mechanical computer designed by Charles Babbage was called Analytical Engine. It
uses read-only memory in the form of punch cards.
Computer is an advanced electronic device that takes raw data as
input from the user and processes these data under the control of set of
instructions (called program) and gives the result (output) and saves output
for the future use. It can process both numerical and non-numerical (arithmetic
and logical) calculations.
