What is Folder (Know some basics of Folder)



FOLDER

Folder is compartment of related files/directories.

TO CREATE A FOLDER

METHOD 1
1.      Right-click on an empty space (blank area) on the desktop, a dropdown list appears
2.      Point to New
3.      Then click on the folder option (i.e. Folder or Compressed (Zipped) Folder)
4.      Name the Folder and then press the Enter key on the keyboard

METHOD 2 USING THE WINDOWS EXPLORER TOOL
1.      Click on Start Menu
2.      Point to All Programs
3.      Point to Accessories
4.      Click on Windows Explorer

5.      Click on the File Menu
6.      Point to New
7.      Then click on the folder option (i.e. Folder or Compressed (Zipped) Folder)
8.      Name the Folder and then press the Enter key on the keyboard
A new folder activates will appear.

DELETING A FOLDER/FILE

METHOD 1
1.      With the Windows Explorer on the screen, click on the file/folder
2.      Press delete key on the keyboard
3.      Confirm the action by clicking yes on the confirmation dialog box

METHOD 2
1.      Right-click on the folder/file, drop down list appears
2.      Click on Delete
3.      Confirm the action by clicking yes on the confirmation dialog box or press the enter key on the keyboard.

METHOD 3
1.      Click on the folder/file
2.      Press SHIFT + F10 on the keyboard
3.      Press D on the keyboard
4.      To confirm the action press the enter key on the keyboard.

TO RENAME A FOLDER

METHOD 1
1.      Having the Windows Explorer on screen
2.      Click on the File Menu
3.      Click on Rename
4.      Type the new name of the file/folder to be rename
5.      Press (Enter) on the keyboard

METHOD 2
1.      Right click on the file/folder
2.      Click on Rename
3.      Type the new name of the file/folder to be rename
4.      Double-click on an empty space (blank area)

METHOD 3
1.      Click on the folder/file
2.      Press SHIFT + F10 on the keyboard
3.      Press M on the keyboard
4.      Type the new name of the file/folder to be rename
5.      Press (Enter) on the keyboard
